Clariant's Container Dri portfolio offers a broad line of container desiccants that offer versatile protection against damaging humidity and moisture during intermodal transport. Available in bags, poles and strips, these industry-leading products absorb up to three times their weight in moisture and trap it as a thick gel that will not spill or drip. Preventing "Container Rain" A unique feature of Container Dri II desiccants also referred to as moisture absorbing bags, or dry bags is dew point control. Dew point is the temperature at which condensation starts to form on surfaces, such as container walls and roofs. By aggressively removing moisture from ambient air, Container Dri II products lower the dew point to prevent "container rain", "container sweat", or also known as "cargo sweat", from damaging goods in transit. This system is highly effective in preventing the conditions that may cause mildew, warpage, corrosion, caking and other damage to agricultural products, bulk foods, powders, wood products, glass, furniture, automobile parts, leather goods, beans such as cocoa bean, and coffee bean, machinery and metal components. Desi Pak (Bentonite Clay) Moisture Adsorbent:
Clariant Desi Pak bentonite clay desiccants are an effective and economical desiccant option. A calcium-rich montmorillonite, Desi Pak layered structure attracts and binds water molecules to its vast inner and outer surface area. Even at full water vapour capacity, Desi Pak remains dry and free-flowing with no apparent change in size, shape or texture. The adsorption capacity of Desi Pak is considerable even at low humidity levels and increases as relative humidity rises. Desi Pak adsorption rate is high enough to prove effective for most applications at low humidity. At high humidity levels, Desi Pak adsorbs moisture much more slowly than silica gel or molecular sieve, making handling less problematic. Desi Pak adsorption capacity as a function of temperature remains constant at constant relative humidity between 20 DegreeC and 50 DegreeC (however the rate may vary). Desi Pak products can be reactivated for multiple uses.
